LAS VEGAS, NV – MAY 15, 2025 – Today, Nature Coatings, an award-winning biochemical company turning wood waste into black pigments, announced that Julie Corbett joined the Company’s Board of Directors. Corbett was the founder and CEO of Ecologic Brands, an iconic sustainable packaging company that pioneered the world's only commercially-viable paper bottles made from recycled materials. She proved a circular product could scale and successfully sold Ecologic to Jabil Inc in 2021.

“I know what it takes to scale sustainable raw materials technologies,” said Julie Corbett. “Nature Coatings is tackling very similar challenges and barriers I faced at Ecologic—bringing innovative technology, steps and processes, integrating successfully in existing infrastructure and navigating cost and performance demands. With tightening regulations around carbon black, the opportunity is massive and extremely impactful. Jane and the team have built something truly impressive, and I’m excited to help scale it.”

Nature Coatings transforms wood waste into 100% bio-based, non-toxic and carbon-negative black pigments and dispersions. Its sustainably sourced products are used by a range of industries, including textiles, cosmetics, printing ink (packaging, textile and footwear), as well by plastics, paints, and coatings companies. Global brands and manufacturers trust Nature Coatings’ award-winning BioBlack to deliver a durable and scalable alternative to carbon black that’s nontoxic and sustainably-sourced at a competitive price.

“We’re honored to have Julie join our Board,” said Jane Palmer, CEO of Nature Coatings. “She brings deep expertise in commercializing breakthrough materials, building manufacturing infrastructure, and forging trusted partnerships with global brands. Her experience navigating sustainability, retail, and supply chain dynamics makes her an invaluable addition as we accelerate growth.”
