Transforming industries, protecting the planet

-0.60 kg CO2e

The net negative carbon footprint of BioBlack TX pigment dispersion.

4.62 millions

Tons of CO2 mitigated each year if the BioBlack pigments and dispersions replaced all carbon black used in plastics, inks, paint and coatings. It’s the equivalent of a car driving around the Earth circumference more than 100,000 times.

Reducing emissions and removing carbon

At Nature Coatings, we are on a mission to revolutionize the chemical industry and safeguard our planet. We have harnessed the power of innovation to develop BioBlack TX, a safe and high-performing alternative to petroleum-derived carbon black that not only reduces emissions but actively removes carbon from the environment. Here's how.

According to a third-party verified analysis*, BioBlack TX has an 85% lower carbon footprint compared to petroleum-derived alternatives. It also has the unique ability to store carbon, leading to an even greater reduction in carbon emissions. It's a step beyond sustainability; it's actively healing our planet.

Impact BioBlack TX carbon negative

Turning wood waste into a solution

In the United States alone, an estimated 50 million tons of wood waste are generated each year*. This wood waste contributes to the release of stored carbon into the atmosphere as CO2 when burned or left to decay naturally. This intensifies the concentration of greenhouse gases responsible for global warming and climate change, posing a severe threat to our planet.

Traditional carbon black: a toxic legacy

Traditional carbon black, derived from petroleum, has long been a staple in various industries. However, it poses significant risks to both human health and the environment. This pigment contains carcinogens called Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) and results in millions of tons of CO2 emissions during its manufacturing process. One ton of carbon black pigment produces approximately 3.3 tons of CO2 emissions, as reported in the study "Decarbonisation Options for the Dutch Carbon Black Industry." (Y. Abdallas Chikri and W. Wetzels, 25 May 2020).

Leading the way to a cleaner future

With a net negative carbon footprint, BioBlack TX is not just a product; it's a solution that actively fights climate change. By choosing BioBlack TX, companies can embrace green and safe chemistry, and take a powerful step toward reducing emissions and removing carbon from our environment.
