AGI Denim and Nature Coatings Unite for Sustainable Fashion: TOMORROWLAB

Over the past three decades, AGI Denim has been a pioneering force in the denim industry, consistently setting new standards in innovation and sustainability. As Pakistan's only B Corp certified company with end-to-end LEED certification, they've also launched the nation's first post-consumer textile recycling plant, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to a sustainable future.

To mark their 30th anniversary, AGI Denim has embarked on an exciting collaboration with fashion visionary Jonathan Cheung. Formerly the head of design for Levi Strauss and renowned for his work with iconic designers such as Franco Moschino and Giorgio Armani, Cheung now applies his expertise as a consultant in design and innovation.

Together, they've given birth to TOMORROWLAB, a collaborative collection that addresses the most pressing challenges faced by the fashion industry. TOMORROWLAB is a fusion of low-impact fibers, eco-friendly treatments, and sustainable finishes. Going beyond traditional cotton, the collection incorporates "New Cellulosics," including regenerative cotton, GOTS-certified organic hemp, and Tencel's wood-based fibers.

Another concept is "Unwasted," featuring materials that reduce waste, such as post-industrial and post-consumer cotton. These fabrics are processed with "Future Colors," including Nature Coatings' BioBlack TX pigment derived from wood waste, sourced from pre-consumer industrial wood waste certified by the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council), and Huue bio-based indigo. These innovations significantly reduce the collection's environmental footprint.

Working with the brilliant AGI Denim team, the results achieved with BioBlack TX by Nature Coatings speak for themselves. The marbling, pooling, train tracks, roping - all those beautiful details that give denim its soul, are all here
— Jonathan Cheung

TOMORROWLAB's guiding philosophy is to make sustainability accessible to all. By leveraging these innovative technologies, AGI Denim, Jonathan Cheung, and Nature Coatings are working to make these fabrics and finishing techniques available to a broader audience. This collection is a testament to AGI Denim's enduring commitment to innovation and environmental consciousness, aligning with Jonathan Cheung's own interests.

TOMORROWLAB represents a pivotal step towards a more sustainable and inclusive future for the fashion industry. As the collaboration unfolds, it's Nature Coatings' BioBlack TX pigment that takes center stage, highlighting its essential role in shaping the sustainable fashion landscape.
